Good to Great By Jim Collins

Review by William Wagner

From a contrarian perspective and one that gets to look at more recent history that dissected by the author, Jim Collins; the book “Good to Great” is a constant and welcomed reminder as to the importance of well defined metrics.
If you can’t measure it you certainly can’t manage it and the CEO’s represented by the author were excellent problem solvers and had the passion, belief and self-confidence to stick to their decisions.
As good as “Good to Great” is, it is missing the one ingredient that leaders are looking for . . . the “How To.”
How do we get the right people in the right seats of the bus? Where it is a highly pragmatic, insight on history and numbers (all of the objective) parts, it is still light on addressing the people side of business.
